PlayitSafeLogoGeorgia Family Council unveiled its campaign called "Play it Safe: A Parent's Guide to Internet Safety" in September 2006. More than 1,200 parents have been educated in a two-hour seminar on the following topics:

  • What are kids really doing online today?
  • The lasting effects of some Internet activities, including pornography
  • Developing an Internet behavior agreement to be signed by kids and parents
  • Technology resources for protection and accountability

GFC also published a corresponding guide book that accompanies the seminar so parents can refer to the resource after they attend the seminar. The media report regularly on the dangers of Internet predators who want to harm our kids. Others also clamor for our children's attention, without regard for whether their values represent those we work so hard to impart in our families.

Georgia Family Council believes that educating and equipping parents through Play it Safe can literally change lives as parents and kids gain a mutual understanding about what's acceptable and expected regarding Internet use.
